Support Our Healing Scholarship Fund

At Sankofa Rising, we believe healing should be relational, liberatory, and accessible—not reserved for the privileged few.

This fund was created in January 2024 in response to an urgent and ongoing need within our community. Many of those we accompany—especially within BIPOC and Global South contexts—face systemic barriers shaped by colonial legacies, economic injustice, and restricted access to care.

Your contribution helps sustain Sacred Accompaniment Sessions and Consultations for individuals navigating grief, trauma, fragmentation, and disconnection—especially those whose conditions remain unseen by mainstream systems.

This is not charity. This is what Mallence Bart-Williams calls sharity—a practice rooted in mutuality, dignity, and shared belonging. Charity often implies hierarchy or pity; sharity affirms that we are part of an interwoven web.

Giving here is a relational act, not an extractive one. It acknowledges that healing justice and shared prosperity require all of us—those who receive and those who give—to be in right relationship. You may not receive a physical product in return, but you are investing in collective thriving, in the liberation of others, and in the restoration of a world where care is reciprocal, not commodified.

Your offering—no matter the size—helps more people return to themselves, their ancestors, and the Earth.

👉🏾 Please consider contributing today to support someone’s decolonial healing journey.

Our community feedback…

  • Sacred Accompaniment Sessions

kenyatta has been a trusted guide in my journey through some of my biggest challenges. she is someone who feels safe, kind, patient, wise, playful, and deeply caring to me. the things that seem so impossible to witness, feel, admit, or disentangle feel calm, simple, and normal in her presence (normal meaning free from shame). with her support, i've grown to love and accept myself in ways that i've dreamed of and hoped for. i know that the challenges will keep arising as i continue on my life path and i feel so much more confident and brave in meeting them after so much hard and gentle work with kenyatta.

  • new year SOULmatic reset retreat

“This was a beautiful offering to begin the new year! You know how to gently guide us to connect with the earth and our blood ancestors in a very deep way. The wisdom shared in the retreat about decolonizing our mind and body are very helpful and nourishing.

  • unstillness - let life move me

“The unstillness journey really helped me become a better listener to my body. I was able to apply The tools I was introduced to during the sessions into my daily practices. I’m so appreciative of this experience.

  • unstillness - let life move me

“It was really helpful to me to have guided practice into exploring these ideas and experiences through my body and movement. My natural tendency is to be very cerebral and approach my feelings, experiences and challenges by talking or writing ABOUT them, which I am really good at. This is why talk therapy hasn't worked well for me. What I need is support to FEEL into myself, my memories, my feelings and experiences without tapping out into verbalizing and intellectualizing to escape the actual body and emotional experience. This course was exactly what I have been looking for. I was also really impressed with the degree to which we were able to build an authentic sense of community in virtual space.

  • unstillness - let life move me

“The circle was one of the most empowering journeys of my life. For the first time, I trusted that I knew what was best for me, healing self-doubt and giving me a peace I never knew.
